I have used several brands of electric toothbrushes over the years, and after leaving my last one at the hotel on vacation, I bought a Philips Sonicare Flexcare R910. After the first use, I was actually pretty happy I happy I had lost my other one. Below are some of the aspects I like and dislike about it.
Update: These toothbrushes are currently on sale through this link on Amazon.
Likes:
- Slim Handle
- Pro Results brush heads
- Lithium Ion batteries
- Quadpacer
- 5 modes of brushing
The Philips Sonicare Flexcare R910 is not bulky like other brushes, and it’s comfortable to hold. The new brush heads are also really nice, and replacements are reasonably priced. Also, this brush has lithium ion batteries, finally batteries that charge quick and don’t lose power. The Quadpacer, which I have never had, beeps to let you know it’s time to move to another area of your mouth. The reminder goes off about every 30 seconds or so. Another thing I had not experienced with my other brush was different modes of brushing. The Philips Sonicare Flexcare R910 has 5 modes which are, clean mode (2 min.), sensitive, massage, Go Care, and Max Care. The Go Care is about a minute long and the Max Care is 3 minutes long. I find that I just set the brush to the clean mode in the morning and sensitive at night.
Dislikes:
- Price
- Noise
The high price will catch some of you off guard if you are not prepared to invest in the health and care of your teeth. I promise though, it’s worth it. Finally, the noise is a bit loud, but this may just be me. Regardless, the Philips Sonicare Flexcare R910 overall is a great toothbrush and has definitely impressed me, a 10 year user of electric toothbrushes.
